With football season upon us, we understand that choosing the right spot to watch your team play is a big decision. That is why we have compiled a list of our top five favorite sports bars in South Lake Tahoe. From spacious open bars to dive bars, the south shore has a sports bar to suit everyone’s taste!
Pick 6 Sports Bar Lake Tahoe
Located in the heart of town, just one block from the lake, Pick 6 is South Lake Tahoe’s newest sports bar. This large 2-story bar has a modern and industrial feel with an open floor plan, high ceilings, and open upstairs loft seating area. Throughout the restaurant and bar are numerous TV’s including a large projection-style TV where the picture is displayed on a wall. Pick 6 also offers outside seating with outdoor games like corn hole and over-sized Connect Four during the summer months, along with heaters and a fireplace for the colder weather. With a menu full of house-made items, extensive beverage selection, and daily specials, Pick 6 is a great spot for all ages to come and watch your next big game!
Straw Hat Sports Bar
A part of the Straw Hat chain, this large sports bar is located inside Harvey’s Casino on the Nevada state line. Adjacent to the casino floor, the restaurant and bar are easily accessible, and cater to all ages. Enjoy a freshly made hot pizza, appetizers, salad bar, and refreshing beverages while watching your game on one of the many TV’s mounted on the walls all over the restaurant and bar areas. There is ample seating, so finding a table is always easy. Be sure to check out their impressive sports memorabilia scattered throughout (a lot of it is autographed!), and visit the bar area for a list of their daily drink specials.
Sidelines Sports Pub
Located adjacent to the lobby in the lakefront resort Tahoe Beach Retreat, Sidelines Sports Pub offers friendly service, a great menu of classic pub grub and housemade items, sports themed decor, and numerous TV’s. Sidelines is family-friendly, open year round, and with such close proximity to the lake, you can easily take a stroll down to the beach for some fresh air during half time.
Emerald Bay Bar & Grill
If you’re looking for a good spot to catch a game where the locals go, check out Emerald Bay Bar & Grill. Located near the “Y” intersection of Highway 50 and 89 on Emerald Bay Road, you’ll find this unique sports bar. A renovated old Tahoe cabin turned bar that has a casual and cozy feel, with a touch of “dive bar” with the $1 bills scattered across the ceiling and walls. The bar has numerous TV’s throughout, full beer and liquor selection, and they are known for their delicious and hearty-portioned eats (be sure to order their tater tots, and thank me later). During the summer months, enjoy their large patio area with tables, fire pit, horseshoes, and corn hole, and they keep the cozy vibe going during the winter months as well with the fire pit for warmth. They offer specials daily and on game days, so make sure to ask!
Audibles Sports Bar
Another true local’s bar, Audibles is located in the Lower Kingsbury area on the Nevada side of the south shore, tucked away inside a small strip mall. Famed for their upscale pub grub eats and rotating beer taps, Audibles has numerous TV’s mounted throughout, so you’ll be able to watch your game from anywhere in the bar, and you can also try your luck on one of the video poker machines at the bar. Enjoy the laid back local vibe in this renovated bar (formerly The Goal Post), while watching your favorite team play!
